A national heat of The Culchie Festival will take place this Saturday night 13th October at Round Tower Hotel at 10pm. There will be loads of fun, craic & music as we watch the touring judges on the night interview and search for the best female and male Culchie who will then be picked to go through to the National final to be held in Cloyne Co Cork in the next few weeks with some fabulous prizes ...
on offer. Are you up for it?....Do you think you can impress ( or even fool) the judges to reach the final?....This should be a great night of fun, so come along and support the contestants and anyone who wants to enter please contact John Supple on 0862330810 before this Friday 12th.
The Culchie Festival started in 1989 in Clonbur Co Galway. The Festival has taken place in many towns and villages throughout Ireland in its search to find "The Culchie" or the "Village Character" as he was known years ago. This festival is now a huge event and "The true culchie has the ability to entertain at will, whether on stage or TV". It is great to see Ardmore being chosen as one of the places to hold this year's national heat and who knows we might even produce the 2012 All Ireland Champion this Saturday. The festival final is held in late October of each year after regional heats held throughout Ireland and other overseas Irish communities to select contestants.
